The devices that coupling can drive are generally:

Even if the installation accuracy is very high, the settlement or deviation of the equipment base cannot be avoided with the long operation of the equipment, so there is a deviation between the two axes.
Axial deviation is generally reflected in three directions:
Angle, axial and radial. At the same time, the unbalanced output torque of the driving device (i.e. torsional vibration) is also considered as an inter-shaft deviation.
During the operation of the equipment, the dislocation of two axes will cause vibration, noise, bearing wear and even oil seal damage. At the same time, the stress caused by the misalignment of the two axles will also increase the load of the axle, which will seriously affect the service life of the axle and equipment in the long run.
To avoid this and protect subsequent equipment, a flexible connection must be established between the two shafts to tolerate and appropriately compensate for deviations, i.e., flexible coupling.
Flexible couplings can withstand the additional stress caused by the deviation caused by the deformation of the elastic element, while effectively transferring power.
According to different directional deviation, different power transmission and different application requirements, banna designed a variety of different structural forms of couplings.
Classification of couplings:
Rigid coupling, flexible coupling also have non-metallic coupling and metal coupling respectively
Rigid coupling is to connect the two shafts of the equipment rigidly. It only plays the role of transferring energy, does not compensate for the deviation between the axes. Thus, rigid couplings have higher transmission accuracy (synchronous transmission), but do not have the function of protecting subsequent equipment. Typical product: sleeve coupling
Flexible coupling can not only transmit power, but also tolerate and compensate the deviation between shafts effectively. Some flexible couplings can also effectively reduce the vibration of equipment. Therefore, although some couplings cannot be synchronously driven, the advantage of flexible couplings is that they can protect subsequent equipment and extend the service life of the equipment.
