The outer teeth are divided into straight teeth and drum teeth two kinds of teeth, the so-called drum teeth is to make the outer teeth into a sphere, the spherical center on the axis of the gear, the clearance of the tooth side is larger than the general gear, drum tooth coupling can allow a larger angular displacement (relative to the straight tooth coupling), can improve the contact conditions of the teeth, improve the ability to transfer torque, prolong the service life. When the gear coupling is working, the two axes produce relative displacement, and the tooth surface of the internal and external teeth periodically make axial relative sliding, which will inevitably form the wear and power loss of the tooth surface, so the gear coupling needs to work in a good lubrication and seal state.

Features:

The radial size of the gear coupling is small, the bearing capacity is large, and the length is used for the shafting transmission of low speed and heavy load working conditions. The high-precision and dynamic balanced gear coupling can be used for high-speed transmission, such as the shafting transmission of the gas turbine. Because the angular compensation of the drum type coupling is greater than that of the straight type coupling, the drum type coupling is widely used at home and abroad, and the straight type coupling belongs to the eliminated products, the user should try not to choose.

Torsional vibration:

The torsional vibration of gear coupling is analyzed and studied, and the nonlinear analysis of torsional vibration of gear coupling connecting shafting is carried out mainly by using Fourier series method, taking clearance, damping and excitation force as parameters. A large number of experiments have been carried out on the axial vibration of the shaft system connected by the gear coupling, and the main causes of the axial vibration are described qualitatively. It is pointed out that the axial vibration is mainly caused by the friction force of the tooth surface. When there is no axial restoring force or thrust bearing, the larger axial channeling will occur.

Vibration analysis is one of the technologies to predict the misalignment of coupling, it can judge the gradual change trend of equipment state, but when judging whether a equipment is in the misalignment state, it needs to have a lot of data and examples in the past for reference, but also to distinguish the bearing, lubricating oil, coupling, or connection fixed problem, so there are certain limitations. Infrared photography technology can distinguish the overheating parts of the bearing, motor housing, coupling and so on when the equipment is in poor condition, and determine the coupling error, combined with vibration analysis and other prediction technology, the effect will be better.


Dental joint maintenance method:

There are hundreds of varieties of gear coupling, but the basic form is two kinds: 1, internal and external teeth combined type; 2. Combination of end teeth. All other forms are variations on these two foundations. Internal and external teeth combined with the type of gear clutch transmission torque is relatively large, the design takes into account the different needs of users, deliberately designed into the shaft end length on both sides of the teeth is inconsistent, so that users can choose the installation direction according to the need. So, there's no rule about which end is facing where. Installation should pay attention to: 1, if it is the original equipment replacement, then generally should be consistent with the original direction, if it is a new design and manufacture of equipment, then on the premise of not interfering with the surrounding other parts, according to the principle of the more reliable installation of the internal and external tooth joint surface.

The maintenance of gear coupling is generally carried out in the following ways:

1, check the coupling tooth surface meshing, the contact area along the tooth height is not less than 50%, along the tooth width is not less than 70%, the tooth surface should not have serious pitting, wear and crack. 2, the coupling ring full circle beat is not more than 0.03mm, end face circle beat is not more than 0.02mm. 3. If it is necessary to remove the ring gear, special tools must be used. Do not knock, so as not to bend or damage the shaft. When back installed, the gear ring should be heated to about 200℃ and then installed on the shaft. The interference between the outer ring and the shaft is generally 0.01~0.03mm. 4. When reassembling the indirect cylinder or other parts, it shall be assembled according to the original marks and data. 5. Tighten the bolts evenly with the torque wrench.
