When additional relative displacement occurs in the working process, flexible coupling should be selected.

The common fixing methods of coupling are as follows:
1. Fixing of positioning screws: The gap between two positioning screws is 90 degrees to lock the fixed shaft, which is a traditional fixing method. Because the screw front end is in contact with the shaft, the shaft may be damaged or disassembled.
2, clamping screw fixation: with the hex bolt tightening force to shrink the slit and clamp the shaft. This method is easy to fix and remove without damaging the shaft. This is a very common fixation method.
3. Keyway type: Like fixed positioning screw, it is one of the most suitable traditional fixing methods for high torque transmission. In order to prevent axial sliding, a combination of fixed positioning screws and fixed clamping screws is usually used.
4, composite fixing method: In the coupling fixing, using two fixed methods to fix the coupling, known as composite fixing method.
On the premise of meeting the convenience performance, the coupling which is convenient for disassembly, simple maintenance and low cost should be selected, and has a wide range of applications
1. In order to avoid affecting the transmission performance of the coupling, the deflection and radial displacement of the coupling should not exceed the specified axis.
2. After installing the universal joint, check whether all fastening bolts work properly. If it is found to be loose, it must be tightened again with the specified tightening torque so that the shift is repeated several times to ensure that it does not loosen.
3. The sliding surface, cross head and bearing of the universal joint must be lubricated. Generally under normal circumstances, with 2 industrial lithium grease or 2 calcium molybdenum disulfide grease for 500 hours, intermittent refueling for 2 months. If working in hot conditions, you must refuel once a week. When refueling, the oil hole on the bearing end face should be tightened. Unscrew the nail and fill it with a high pressure oil gun until it overflows.
4. During routine maintenance of coupling, if indentation and other normal wear phenomenon are found, it should be replaced in time; Coupling is not allowed to have cracks, such as cracks should be replaced (available hammer knock, according to the sound judgment); During maintenance, the cross shaft is rotated 180 degrees to achieve the alternate use of journal forces.
5 gear coupling tooth width contact length is not less than 70%, axial channeling groove is not more than 5mm.
6. When the lifting mechanism is more than 15% of the original tooth thickness, when the operating mechanism is more than 25%, the gear coupling should be scrapped, when the tooth is broken, the gear coupling should also be scrapped.
7. The elastic ring of the pin coupling and the seal ring of the gear coupling should be replaced in time when it is damaged or aging.
8. In operation, the radial swing of the universal coupling and the abnormal heating of the bearing are often observed, and these phenomena must be repaired in time.
