Drum gear coupling selection basis
2023-01-17

Now do we all really understand what is the main basis for selecting the drum gear coupling? Machinery manufacturers believe that most of my friends don't know it, so you can follow the editor to learn about the detailed introduction.

In fact, the type of power machine is the basic factor for selecting the type of drum gear coupling; the power of the power machine is one of the main bases for determining the size of the coupling, which is proportional to the torque of the coupling. Between the power machine and the work, one or several drum-shaped gear couplings of different varieties or different types and specifications are used to connect the main and driven ends to form a shaft transmission system. In mechanical transmission, power machines are nothing more than electric motors, internal combustion engines and steam turbines. Due to the difference in the working principle and structure of the power machine, its mechanical characteristics vary greatly, some run smoothly, and some run with impact, which has unequal effects on the transmission system. According to the mechanical characteristics of the power machine, the corresponding power machine coefficient KW should be selected, and the coupling transmission parts suitable for the system should be selected.

However, the load category of the transmission system is a basic basis for selecting the variety of drum gear couplings. According to the working load with large changes in shock, vibration and torque, a flexible coupling with elastic elements, that is, an elastic coupling, should be selected to buffer, reduce vibration, compensate for axis offset, and improve the performance of the transmission system. The torque during frequent starting, positive and negative rotation, and braking is several times that of normal balanced work, which is a high-load work, which will inevitably shorten the service life of the elastic components of the coupling. The drum-shaped gear coupling is only allowed to be short In case of high load, generally the short-term load shall not be higher than 2~3 times of the nominal torque, that is, [Tmax]≥2~3Tn.
